[quote="Yarold"] Quote: | I totally agree with this comment! I've been hearing of decisions made here in the forums by the "Big 5" emperors without any input from smaller dynasties. I was not aware that there was any discussion of the current changes even going on. Could we not have been invited to participate???
Objection, 'Dynasty discusion' forum is for every dynasty, thus no invitation were given to anyone. Discussion that took place had no results anyway. |
you say this discussion had "no results", however things were changed!
Quote: | My dynasty is small by design. We come, first, from another website, ravelry.com and most of our members are knitters. We don't necessarily WANT more members, but as our allies grow (which is their right) we are forced to drop allies so they can keep growing.
There is no rule to be big dynasty. You are not forced to drop allies also. |
no your right we are not "forced" to drop allies, but if we want to keep the larger allies that do manage to show the most links we HAVE to give in and drop some of the smaller allies to make room for them to get bigger!
Quote: | Instead of helping the "big 5" grow bigger, why not help the smaller dynasties grow if they want to?
You are skipping reading of my replies, i shall do the same with yours. |
What is this? you don't like the question so you refuse to answer? I assure you she read ALL of the posts in this thread, yours included. You have yet to answer this well.
You DO NOT help the smaller dynasties AT ALL, unless you include forcing them to get bigger to compete to be "helping"!
Quote: | And all these changes were made in response to CHEATING by some of the Big 5??? Why are those dynasties not targeted for punishment? Are feeder dynasties bad? if they are, the creators should be punished. Period.
offtopic |
Off topic?? Really? or is it just that again you dont choose to answer? I ask again, why don't you punish the larger dynasties that were "cheating"?
Quote: | I'm feeling very small and unimportant and disregarded by the Yarolds leadership. I feel that no one is interested until any changes happen. |
Wrong. We have been trying to keep up on things, and have supported you right up until you made life impossible for the smaller dynasties!
Quote: | Quote: | Are you sure that you are not using this as cover that you want hard working dynasties be last ones, and those with 1-2 members as first ?
| I don't think anyone works harder for their dynasty than Jeanne.
Jeanne is a person not a dynasty, and should be looked at "member list" not "dynasty list". Shes doing very good only her dynasty cant keep up.
I can even make a contest if that helps. |
Make a contest for what? How would you do this, would it really be for the smaller dynasties, or again just for those you prefer that feed you money by buying credits so they can feed thier members
Quote: | The priorities you have set mean hard working=best cheaters.
Anyway your now a liar untill you prove that they are cheating, and if you have read dynasty discussion you 'd have know that its not easy. |
No it's not easy to prove they are cheating, but you OWN the site you don't have to prove ANYTHING! You know how things are working behind the scenes, if you don't want "feeder" dynasties, cut them off. Make it impossible for them to work, stop allowing them to do things like this AND get rewarded. Simply say, no sorry you cheated you can't win this contest. The winner is (insert 2nd place person who DID NOT cheat here)
Quote: | As for hard working dynasties: Do you think members in small dynasties work less than members of large dynasties do?
no, they work harder
work W: do 20 000 clicks
dynasty A ( 10x members with average 1000 clicks a day = total 10000/day)
dynasty B ( 2x members with average 2000 clicks a day = total 4000/day)
dynasty A will do work W in 2 days, dynasty B in 5 days.
so dynasty A works harder and is ranked #1.
However individual members from dynasty B work harder than those from A, so members from dynasty B takes 1st and 2nd place on memberlist. |
So your punishing the dynasty as a whole? KNOWING they have to work so much harder, your still not giving them a break! The MEMBERS might make it to 1st or 2nd, but many of us have a friendship going with those in our dynasties. We would like to see THE DYNASTY get 1st or 2nd place, instead we get punished for trying to work as a team.
Quote: | Additionally, we attained our goal of a high member average by working hard, not by creating faux dynasties or fake links
you can show them now on 'main' |
I think you missed the point of this one...We worked hard and FAIR, we didn't cheat to get as high as we were. Yet we are still being punished, while you find ways to reward those that got to the top by cheating.
Here's my take on things, and I could care less if you ban me, (I'm leaving anyway since this is supposed to be fun, (but since I am honest and not willing to lie, cheat and steal to be on top I won't ever get anywhere here.)
I don't have the money to spend on buying credits, period. I don't have enough links to show 8 or more to get the same number of clicks received as given, and since I am emperor of a dynasty that will NEVER be large. We won't ever "win" your contests or be taken seriously.
It has ceased to be fun for me, it has become a big ball of stress! I don't need your stress, (I have enough in real life). I hope you enjoy your site, and I will NEVER bring anyone here to get clicks again, since I know how against you are to anyone that wants to "play fair" and not cheat to get ahead in your world!

I understand the admins feel the need for there to be a timer on dragcave. I do I really do, trying to keep Yarold's running and not getting it banned from sites due to causing server issues is a HUGE thing. Among many other reasons I get all that.
HOWEVER as has been stated here several times, is there a way to prevent the wait timers from turning into HATS? I frequently open 20-30 pages then run off to do chores or run errands, when I return I check all the pages to make sure they have loaded and give credit where needed (even if it means refreshing several times), then close them. HATS prevent me from being able to do this. I simply do not have the time to sit and wait for them all to load with a 45 sec timer.
My other solution is maybe reduce the timer to say 5-10 secs between pages, this would also prevent the drag on the server while still giving some time in between pages/dragons loading. 45 secs between pages is just crazy on something that does not require a wait at all. |

Quote: | If you have already clicked your links you will see a blank space rather than <hidden> They are still hidden you just don't see <hidden> because you've clicked them already. But I have looked you up and your links are only showing in history. You're losing credits because you have two links still in history. Are you absoloutely positive they are showing in main? According to your profile they are only in history. I have cleared the main page, I've not clicked you today, but I can see you in history *clicks*
Because both of your links are DragCave links I recommend removing one completely. Then, when you need to show the other one for while place the link over the top of the other DragCave link. It will replace it straight away because they are the same link type. This will mean when you need them both "hidden" you will only have one in history at any given time saving you credits. |
I do understand what you are saying . So your only showing that I have 2 links? Several others have told me that they see 3 links. Also 2 people have found my scroll when they were clicking the main page, which is all I have telling me that my link is showing there. I have never seen it myself.
As far as the2nd link goes I took it off yesterday morning. At reset it should have gone away, but did not. I am still not seeing myself as hidden in the dynasty, and I should by this point. I unchecked everything almost 24 hours ago. |

I appreciate the replies, but I think maybe I need to explain better. I do know that everyone I click will be able to see mine in history, and I will continue to lose credits from that. I also know that supporting 2 links is diffcult . That's not the problem. Let me try and restate it
Even when I take the links OFF main and dynasty in my profile they are still visible. They should be showing (at least in the dyansty) as hidden. That is not happening. I also seem to be shown on the main page, even though that has not been checked for a very long time now. I think maybe there is a glitch in my links and the way they are showing |

Forum: Banned accounts Posted: Wed Sep 24, 2008 11:46 pm Subject: Not yet banned...but probably will be! |
I do appreciate all the responses from everyone. We have worked it out so that my son's scroll is on my mom's account and my daughter's on mine. I did not want to get banned (this was before Yarold answered me) so just in case we changed things .
I did notice however that when my daughter would come home and click and my son would click, there were no links left for me! I now allow my kids 30 mins per day each at my computer to click links. That way we all have one account they get to learn some responsibility AND I don't have to worry about doing anything wrong! Whew, took some time but I think we got it.
Thank You everyone, esp Yarold for making, and maintaining such a wonderful site! |

I think I understand HOW the links work. I have 2 links that should be on my account. Neither of which should be showing on main. If my daughter's scroll needs more views I change it to be shown to the dynasty on hers. Most of the time it only shows mine to the dyansty.
Here's my problem: for the last several days I am losing more credits than I can gain. I took both links off showing even to the dynasty. I am still not showing as hidden. Is there some kind of bug that has an old link I deleted that is still there? How am I losing credits so fast? I am clicking like crazy, but I still cant keep up the credits! A few more days of this and I will start going negative again. Please help.
The links that SHOULD be there are both to dragon cave and are the scrolls of katewolven and sexilexi. I can post the links if you like but I'm not sure I am allowed to. |

Forum: Banned accounts Posted: Sat Sep 06, 2008 12:35 am Subject: Not yet banned...but probably will be! |
I have not been banned, but I think I might be after reading further in the forums. If someone could respond when they get a chance I would appreciate it . Also I moved this from the ABUSE forum as I realized it probably didn't belong there. THANKS!
I think I may have unknowingly broken the rules. I have 2 children (13 and 15 yrs old), that have thier own scrolls on Dragon Cave, I also have my own scroll. I require that my children find a way to raise their own "baby dragons". When I found this site, I spent a few days figuring out how it works, eventually joined a dynasty, and then allowed my kids to sign up for thier own accounts here.
The problem comes in because we are on a home network (4 comps on the network) and I think we might have the same IP address. I am at home all day and able to click links during the day, my children are in school. I noticed they don't seem to have the same links I do even though I encouraged them to join the same dynasty I am in. When I discovered this, I logged onto my son's comp and verified we had the same links available, but then when I went back to my comp and clicked the links, they then showed as already clicked on his comp.
Can someone direct me on how to fix this? I don't want to violate the rules, however I want my children to be able to care for thier own scrolls. They are old enough to learn responsibility!
If there is no way to correct this can someone help me shut down the other accounts? Some ideas for getting them another way to click would be great too! |
