Members are free and they can freely join and leave, though some think they own them. They can also stop playing. Most members lack information and they make up their mind with what they perceive. That's why they don't move much. I shall call it "perceived value for member".

To be attractive, a dynasty must create PVFM. And lots of it, because Yarold is demanding. There are many ways to do it, depending on emperor, history, size, people themselves...

How can they do ? By caricaturing, I could say that there are two main ways of creation of perceived value.

One is by recruiting and teaching. You ask newbies, you teach them, you help them. More than one half leave quickly, at times for other dynasties, mainly because they stop playing. From time to time, you get a very good one. This way is long and demanding, but it gives long range results. A member never forget where he was taught. Some dynasties teach 100% of their joiners, up to 10 people a week or more. This is of course quite interesting for all Yarold players. Some dynasties never teach a member. I remember a kampaku with CARE 0.

The other way is offering pleasure and motivating. That can be the emperor charisma, through contests, promotions, fun, lively chat... This way is interesting for confirmed members, to keep daimyos and shoguns going. Clicking over 1000 every day needs to be secured. When one of these members stops, it is for a long time. Most dynasties try to motivate their members.

Both ways are matching. Teaching the young members, having fun with all of them. A shogun can take pleasure in teaching, a newbie in increasing his averages.

Sadly enough, this second way was diverted in the past year. Motivating became manipulation, giving pleasure became buying. Newbies were offered the blue star on their first week, titles were granted, charges of plots were used, as by all the tyrannies of the world. This gave great results for a short time. We all remember a dynasty who grew to be third by the number of clicks and disappeared in a few months. Many amongst its members stop playing.

What about merging ? Merging does not create value by itself, only tranfer it. Merging is not an alternative to value creation. It can help when a dynasty is ill, the emperor away or inactive, or not willing. When two good dynasties merge, there is always a lost of value. The result is the departure of members, mainly by stopping. We had good examples in the past months. The members lost in merging can be estimated to 60/80 on the first 6 months of the year (number of members before and now). We should give members a true alternative.

Kicking can hardly be considered as value creation. If we kick all unclickable accounts, we'll soon be under 400. Funny for allying.

All creation of perceived value for member is good for all of us. We need new members. We need to stop the members drain. The number of dynasties members decreased from about 600 at the beginning of this year to less than 500 in june. This is quite worrying. If this trend lasts for one more year, we shall have few remaining dynasties. If any.

So, we have to manage this value. How can we, together, create more value for all Yarold's members ? And stop destroying ?

Somebody should talk about value for emperors or kampakus.
Good bye, thanks for fun and frienship.

Samembal, since no one has answered your post in almost a year, I would say either no one cared, or they knew a response was useless. I find ether option appalling!
