What is a Double Elimination Tournament?
A double-elimination tournament is a type of tournament in which a participant is not eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two games or matches. A double-elimination tournament is broken into two sets of brackets, the Winner's Bracket and Loser's Bracket . After the first round, the winners proceed into the Winner's Bracket and the losers proceed into the Loser's Bracket. If you lose while in the Loser's Bracket you are eliminated.

Why 'Doubles' tournament?
Most clicking contest are predictable... top 3 are the dynasty members with highest average/day clicks.
This style doubles tournament makes teams of highest and lowest average individuals to 'even the playing field'.

Teams...(Example Qualify spreadsheet.)

  • 1. Players 1 & 32
  • 2. Players 2 & 31
  • 3-15 ...
  • 16. Players 16 & 17

What is this 'Qualify' about?
Two main reasons...
1) If have more than 32 entries, top 32 qualifying score will enter tournament (thus 'qualify').
2) Set rank of player based on qualifying period average (23-27 Feb).
If your qualifying average is below your dynasty average, then I use your dynasty average for placement.(prevent 'sandbagging')

What if we don't get 32 players?
Old...

1) Reduce to top 16 qualifying players and make 8 teams.
2) Prize structure remains the same.
3) Tournament ends 4 days early (01-17 March)

New...
Teams with the top qualifing players will get 'bye' (rest) in first round.
Example for 24 players (12 teams) 12 Team Seeded Double Elimination Tournament Bracket

What if my team mate gets booted or leaves dynasty?
Your team mate will receive 'ghost' clicking score = 90% of qualifying average and forfeit any prize to remaining team member.
Example: If player qualifies with 500 avg/day then his ghost score shall be 450 (0.9 * 500)

What if odd(ie. 23) number players?
Middle qualifying player shall team with his 'ghost'. Follow rule above "team mate gets booted".

What if both team members get booted or leave dynasty?
Remaining matches are forfeited and any prize is shared by 3 winner teams equally.

We will play with 23 players........

Make 12 teams as follows...
11 teams have 2 active players
1 team have 1 active player and have "ghost" player score 90%

If 1 player team does not win 2 times I will refund 100 credit entry :)

If 1 player team win tournament does not have to share :)
Example for 23 or 24 players (12 teams) 12 Team Seeded Double Elimination Tournament Bracket

23-27 Feb Qualify in progress...
Hidden after today until 28 Feb... DDD Qualify Spreadsheet

28 Feb - Show teams and first round match :D

0 , but not to worry yet...
Quote:
Winner bracket is 4 days (eliminate high & low day score, sum middle scores determines winner).

clarification : eliminate each players low & high score sum middle 2 scores

So 0 is your partner low score (probably same as if he click 100 or 300) and hope he does better or gets booted.
After he's booted, then we will count his ghost score.

This is more of a problem after a teams 1st loss when matches are 2 days long and both scores count.

Hope this helps,

Today is 2nd (and final) day of first round of "1 loss" matches.

You can check match progress/results by clicking the date links at top of columns on tournament web page.

The "1 loss" matches are *very* close after 1st day, it will be interesting to see results when I post after reset.

Notes...

  • Losers of "1 loss" matches are out of the tournament.
  • Winners have new 2-day match beginning at reset.
  • vladan_ns of Team 7 has left the dynasty and we will use his "ghost score" of 552 clicks from today forward.
  • ko0ties has been single clicking for Team 1 since tinsae left the dynasty after day 1. Tinsae was the top qualifier and his "ghost score" gives Team 1 automatic 817 clicks every day in matches.

Keep on clicking and good luck to all,
