um, not that I am disputing that only one person can use each account, but where exactly is that stated in the rules?

"Do not make multiple accounts. Only one per person is allowed" means one account per person, not one person per account. If 500 people access the same account, each of those 500 people has only one account. They all have one per person, it's just the same one.

Maybe it could be changed to say "Do not make multiple accounts. Only one account per person is allowed, and only the account owner may access that account".

Yay thank you for responding!

I have contacted the other two PI user posters in this thread to let them know to check it out in case they wish to voice more opinion.

I think we can tell from Poohgirl's posts she already made that she agrees with the way I was suggesting?

Pony island also has a cool down timer that I do not understand the need for.

I don't play any of the others but Dragon Cave, and with the sporadic nature of the DC links here, I would agree other sites were more the issue with creation of server strain. At the very least, I think the timer could be shorter.

But that doesn't change the fact that the link can be clicked infinite times and each visit is still logged on the pony's profile.

I guess I have a very hard time understanding why this would cost so much more than other links here, especially since I have so many other pony links I can rotate for ponyisland.

Credits cost for games with long timer, longer repeat, or have a limit of links that can be clicked a day, do have higher cost to balance out the exchange and prevent credit hoarding with these links.

To balance out means, that when users links are being clicked for example 10 times by user with a game that you can only click 1 or 3 times a day for different users (example Yer Hotel.PhantasyRPG), or like this game same link only once a week.

But Pony Island does not have a longer timer, not in the way that Yer Hotel does for example. With Yer Hotel, a non-registered user can only make one visit to any hotel per six hours. The IP is restricted from registering visits more than the time limit will allow.

Pony Island does not work this way, you can visit a pony's page over and over again however much you want. You can also visit 500 pony pages in a row if you want and each pony will get credit.

I want to show my Pony Island links each day, I have over 200 ponies so that means I have access to over 200 usable links from the site. If they only show once per week, then I cannot show nearly as many ponies as I am restricted to showing 10 links.

If I swap them out and show them every day, then I will not be able to keep positive credits.

I want to use these links the same as my Dragon Cave link. Is it not possible for them to only cost one credit if you are in fact showing them every day (by using the daily reset?)

Edit to add: I also do not understand the need for balancing if these links only show up one day out of the week, as users can still click any other Pony Island link. It is basically the same as users hiding the links for 6 days and making it visible one day of the week, is it not? My using a Pony Island link does not affect anyone else's ability to click other Pony Island links.

Again, if I click Yer Hotel link, I am locked out from clicking another Yer Hotel link for 6 hours (or however long it is). If I click a Pony Island link, I wait 30 seconds then can click another. I don't understand how PI links will cause me to "hoarde credits" if they only cost 1 credit. I dropped thousands of credits yesterday and only had my PI links visible briefly, and I am not going to be able to get any "extra" clicking in because I showed those links for any day other than yesterday (in other words, I may be able to see some more links in history because someone clicked the links, but only yesterday, not for the next 6 days, and I am being charged 7 days worth of credits each time someone clicked my links). And users only had to wait 30 seconds before they could load another PI link, so I wasn't really stopping anyone from visiting other PI links.

Anyway sorry to be so lengthy, it is hard for me to explain properly what I mean.

I think I finally figured out how to explain my question.

Before this post, PI links were 1 credit links that reset every day. Each user could click them every day, the PI users got credit for each unique IP click per week, and lost 1 credit per day (7 credits per week) for the clicks they received.

After this post, PI links are 7 credit links that reset once per week. Each user can click them once per week, and the PI users get credit for each unique IP click per week, and lose 7 credits per week for the clicks the receive ASSUMING THEY ONLY SHOW THE LINKS ONCE PER WEEK.

So basically, the new way accomplishes nothing for the people who want a weekly reset. They still use as many credits as if they had a daily reset.

And the people who want to show the links each day are punished.

Can we please just change them back to 1 credit links on a daily reset? PI will register each daily visit and the users will still use up 7 credits per link per week.

I guess it's not a huge deal...and I really was more curious then anything else.
I do know that the individual clicks are needed to make your dragons grow though....and oddly enough having the timer made sure my browser didn't overload & freeze when I open several windows.

this is not true, you do not need individual clicks to make them grow. they can grow with 0 clicks. you register a view/unique view for all of the dragons when someone loads the scroll. there is no need for anyone to click "view"/load the individual dragon page to get them to grow.

I thought TJ wanted there to be a time delay between loading links? or is that a separate issue from the frame?

Actually, guys, the problem has been fixed. As soon as I discovered the problem, I notified KC about it. There was an error in coding that KC forgot to fix. If you find any more problems with the links, don't hesitate to tell me. I'll forward your concerns to KC. Alternatively, you can contact her directly on here. She's on yarolds as JayGatsby.

I asked Frank to add in a small message at the bottom of the frame, so it should be more clear now. There should be a message at the bottom that reads, A game where you collect your own DNAdoptables. Click the "Click here to level this DNAdoptable up!" to help the user raise their pet

Thanks, the message in the frame should help, I know it will help remind me about the link until I get used to the new site.

Though you might also want to clarify your short note, I had no idea what you were talking about when you said "don't waste my credits" until I looked at your profile and frankly I doubt I would ever notice which link was yours anyway.

A polite request/reminder that DNAadoptables have a link we need to click might work better to help get people to notice/remind them than an obtuse threat, catch more flies with honey and all that.

Incidentally, how would a 5 minute timer help make more people click on the confirmation link?

You know what? This person made a terribly offensive and contentious statement in their shortnote. And to their credit, they did edit said shortnote. BUT they are still making "do not waste my credits" threats in their short note.

Not interested in being yelled at in shortnotes by someone who is less active than myself. GL in your endeavors. I am sure you all will do well and I wish you the best. I personally do not agree with the concept that it is possible to "waste credits" when one is in a dynasty, but apparently I am wrong about that. That's ok, I like to find out things I am wrong about. I am sure bluebell_rose will be a good substitute for my presence, because certainly she would not be so contentious without being sure she was better than anyone else the dynasty could take as a member. Enjoy!

Frankly I am glad you said something in your short note, because before I read that I didn't even realize they had a confirmation link. It kind of shows up on a poor place on my screen, and since the frame does not give me any instructions, I just hadn't noticed the link.

Now that it has been pointed out to me, I am clicking them. I do try to do any follow up that a site needs, but sometimes when a new site starts to show up on the click exchange if you are not familiar with the site it can be difficult to figure out that you are supposed to do something other than just load the page.

If you want to try some more hh to see if it is better now that you have your short note up, I would be happy to donate some credits so you can put some hh links up and not risk losing a bunch of credits for nothing. I don't show any extra links because I do not have enough control over them until I get VIP, but I would like to show more links, so this way we could both win. PM me on the site if you are willing to give it another shot, and if such a thing would be allowed (and somebody let me know if for some reason such an arrangement would be against the rules).
