Hi guys,

I just recently got on Yarolds to do some clicking and noticed this banner across the top of the page- it seems to be on any Yarolds page, not just the main page.

I don't speak html or script or whatever language that is, so I don't understand it, but is this something to be concerned about?

I have finally found a joke! :lol:

Susan was traveling back to her hometown and, responding to Mother Nature, decided to pull over at one of those rest areas on the side of the highway.

She went into the washroom. Finding the first stall to be taken, she went into the second stall and had just sat down when she heard a voice from the other stall.

"Hi there, how's it going?"

Susan was not the type to strike up conversations with strangers while sitting on the toilet in the restroom on the side of the road. She didn't know what to do, but finally she said, "Not bad."

Then the voice said, "So, what are you doing?"

At that point, Susan was starting to find the situation a bit weird, but answered back, "Well, I'm heading back east."

Then she heard the person, all flustered, say, "Look, I'll call you back. Every time I ask you a question, the idiot in the next stall keeps answering me!"

Perhaps I should have phrased that as, "It will be no fun if I enter this week and win because no one else has entered!" Because that's what I meant to say.

Though I suppose now it doesn't count anymore because you've entered.

Squee! I won again! I'm running low on jokes... but here's another good one.

In a small Midwestern town, an enterprising businessman started construction on a new building to house a strip club he hoped to open, feeling there was a high demand for such a business in the town. The local church vehemently disagreed and, fearing for the souls of everyone in their town, started a campaign to block the strip club from opening with petitions and prayers.

Work progressed right up until the week before opening when lightning struck the building and it burned to the ground. The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, until the strip club owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to the court.

As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this case. It appears that we have a strip club owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not."

A little silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get started."
Her neighbor asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"
The little silver haired lady says, "According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster."
Her neighbor decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.
He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,"First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster."
He takes her hand and says, "Secondly, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then," he said with a deep sigh, "let's put all the Corn Flakes back in the box."

I think the change was done to discourage people who set up autoclickers and then leave the computer for a few hours, intending to fulfill any HATs that pop up while they are away upon their return. It isn't really to question anyone's authenticity. It's annoying, and I'm the worst at getting distracted while clicking- I've even been known to fall asleep after opening a bunch of links... but I haven't missed any HATs since the change was implemented. That's not to say that everyone else's concerns aren't valid, though. I think an hour limit or even a two hour limit would be more reasonable.

It isn't really ideal for year-round use, but I'll see if Jay would be okay with using it until we can get a permanent banner, because it is just adorable and perfect for the season.

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
furious.

She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

All right, mobsters! A great new team means it is time to make an equally great new banner! And just to make things fun, we are making this into a competition, for those of you who are artistically inclined. Everyone who enters the contest will receive a credit reward of 200 credits!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a banner in two sizes that states our dynasty name- "The Mob"- and says something about who we are as a group, whatever that means to you.

Prizes:
All members who enter the contest and follow the rules (see below) will receive 200 credits!
Prizes will be announced when the winners are announced. Consider this a bonding exercise as a dynasty.

Rules:
1. You must submit two different sizes of your banner. The large one, which will be displayed on the dynasty page, must be 500 x 80 pixels in size. The smaller one, which is displayed at the bottom of all official Mob mails, must be 350 x 60 pixels.
2. Use your best judgment- make the banner appropriate, or it won't be accepted and you won't receive your credits.

3. Post both images of your banner as a reply to this thread and you will receive 200 credits. You may submit multiple entries if you wish, but you will only receive 200 credits in total.
4. All entries must be submitted by 11 pm on December 21, 2011 (server time). Voting will commence sometime before reset on the same Yarolds day, so watch for the voting thread which will be announced here!
5. Expect voting to close before reset on December 31st! This will be announced formally on the voting thread, but we would love to start the new year with a shiny new banner.
