PostForum: Support - Ask here   Posted: Sun Feb 14, 2010 6:56 pm   Subject: User no longer has a link
Hi all,

I just clicked a Unicreatures link. It loaded normally, bottom frame told me to click a symbol at the top... but then instead of getting credit for my click, the message came up that the user no longer had a link to share.

I understand this message when it comes up instead of the game itself, but I don't think this is a good thing to see in a bottom frame after I have already made my visit and done a follow-up :/ It means the person who put the link up is getting free clicks.

I don't mind if a person deletes their link, I just think it shouldn't be possible to get this message as a reason for not getting credit after the game page has already loaded

Are you sure that you were able to make a visit and that the hotel wasn't full? For me it looks like all of the free rooms are currently full and the last one was taken about 7hrs ago (ie right before you posted this)

Waters, I have never had to copy and paste anything, or do a captcha, for the Yer Hotel links... please do post a screenshot, that seems very strange to me

Yeah, it definitely looks like the site owner is telling us not to bother actually following up on the link...

it seems to me like it's just a way for the owner of pokeplushies to discourage its users from using a link exchange, without banning it outright.

I don't know what you mean about copy and pasting, though.

They recently changed the site - my guess is people found the popup annoying, so now it only pops up if you attempt to feed twice. What you should see if you correctly feed the pet is a short yellow note underneath the creature which says you have fed it.

Technically, Valenth is an action link. Most users will have their link set up so the pet is fed automatically, but a few do not.

I think the wait time for Valenth may also be a courtesy so clicks from Yarold's don't overload the valenth servers.

Does it make a difference which one I click? Sometimes it says the pokemon prefers a spicy food, or a dry food etc.

The tabs stuck at 1 second is a common issue for me, I usually just solve it by closing all tabs and re-clicking the links. I assume it's a problem with sending too many requests to Yarold's server at once (not just you, but everyone using the site at the same time).

When someone tells you to hide your link, maybe they only mean for the times in which you are not logged in to Yarold's. ie, show your link while you are clicking, then hide when you leave. Depending on how much you can click in a certain amount of time, this can help you build up credits.

It's not very practical if you're trying to actually get clicks on your link, though.

Just keep looking for a dynasty, not every one cares if you have negative credits. :)

Has the page loaded 100% when you try to look at the pop-up?

For some reason pop-ups will not show for me until the page is completely loaded.

hmmmm so that is why i turned my hotel link on the other day in dynasty only and got 2 people to follow it through outta of 25....so another word i got 2 clicks for 125 credits(if still 5 credits per click) why should i show that link anymore in main or dynasty...and i wont no matter what....it isnt just a problem with new people/main it is everywhere....

Your Hotel link probably only had 2 follow-ups because Yarold's timer doesn't match Yer Hotel's timer. I often click a Yer Hotel link which tells me I can't visit right now. Sometimes because I have visited recently, and sometimes because the hotel is full. I always follow up on Hotel links when I can - it's just not always possible. I think many others have the same problem.

I think it makes more sense.

Many Dynasties have many Shogun, who have the ability to make and break alliances, change settings etc... but are forbidden from doing so. Restricting this rank only to users that the emperor actually wants to do these things makes the rank more meaningful.

And of course, if you're an emperor who disagrees with that, you can give the rank any meaning you want... it's still the emperor's choice of when you get promoted (by dynasty rules).

Maybe just "Samurai" could be used (between or below daimyo and shogun).

Virtual Adopt has been back and forth between action/non-action and I think some are still action depending on what link the user has set (there is an autofeed link and one which still requires a click). The same is true for Valenth links. They are marked as action but normally I don't treat them that way since most of them are "rigged" to auto-feed. I noticed yesterday at least one link that wasn't rigged so I did follow through on it manually, but that user is hurting themselves IMO...

Someone has a link now for this contest with a dog that is completely unrelated to Unicreatures.

I don't think whether this person will actually win anything is relevant, my question is meant to ask if it is appropriate to allow links that potentially give you a real money prize.
