baiatdecartier.ro is breaking the frame and therefore not registering click credits from Yarold's. I (temporarily) blocked the site in my "hosts" file, and the click finally registered - and more importantly, it finally got all those links off my list, lol.

I thought I'd let you know though, so that you can make it one of those sites that doesn't have a frame. :)

That's why I'm thinking of leaving the dynasty I'm in - there's a new rule about that, and I don't think it's anyone's business if I want to show links in Main, as long as I have credits to do it.

I can't vote in this poll. The reason? Because there's no "I could not possibly care less." choice.

Seriously, if the way things are done on the site ever bother me enough to start picketing and protesting, I'll just take my toys and play somewhere else. Life's too short to be worried that some admin might possibly get more clicks than I do or that someone else's dynasty is doing better than mine.

I didn't sign up for the site to get into fights. If I want those, there are other places online where I can go.

I signed up to get visits to one game I played. Through this site, I've found dozens of other fun games, some of which I play, and some of which my kids play, because I saw someone's link.

The drama and the politics and the conspiracies? Nahhh. I'll go pick fights at livejournal or MySpace if I want that. They yell louder.

I got this message:

Code:
Succesfuly changed details
Your note was updated but it contain errors (wich is agains short note rules), use [html check] to fix them.

However, an HTML check says...

Code:
The document located at <http://swle.yarold.eu/short_note.php?w3c=1&uid=859>  was successfully checked as HTML 4.01 Transitional. This means that the resource in question identified itself as "HTML 4.01 Transitional" and that we successfully performed a formal validation using an SGML, HTML5 and/or XML Parser(s) (depending on the markup language used).

So, where's the error? I don't want to break the rules, but I see no error, and neither did the validator.

This is the note, by the way:

Code:
LOL @ MUSHpark's short note. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v36/Dasha/smileys/hahaha.gif">

Engelina!!! It's so good to see you.

I was going crazy without the internet. The sad thing is, I was more worried about all my games than I was about anything else - and my daughter didn't help either. Every few days, she'd say, "I wonder how all the dragons are doing? I wonder how the Moshimonsters are doing?" etc.

When I logged in and showed her that all of her adoptables were still alive, she was so relieved. :P

Sorry for the (very) long disappearance. I lost my internet access and I had to wait until we got our tax refund from the Infernal Revenue Service before we could afford to pay all those setup fees and other nonsense to get back online. :???:

If y'all will have me, I've just re-applied to join.

I'm going to add my thanks, too. Engelina, I know you've worked very hard as emperor, and you kept things together for us through a lot of troubles. I truly appreciate everything you've done for all of us in Thriving Dragons - the patience and fairness you've shown, the willingness to help out new members, the contests and the kindnesses.

And I still really like your homepage. TMNT = <3

Hiding links is okay for those of us who are VIPs, but for those who aren't, their links will still show up for 24 hours in history - and since most non-VIPs don't have massive numbers of credits to begin with, they'll come back to a negative balance anyway.

I guess if there's no vacation option, a non-VIP's best bet would be to set their link to dynasty only, and then leave their dynasty if they're expecting to be gone for very long - at least then they might have a few credits left when they came back, maybe.

Quoted for absolute truth.

I think this site is great, I like the folks in my dynasty and a lot of folks not in my dynasty too, I enjoy finding new games when people post their links... but I still hug my kids and smooch my husband and feed my cats every day. I do like the idea of vacation options (in fact, I could swear I started a topic about it a few months ago), but like you said, not everyone celebrates Christmas, and not everyone who does celebrates it the same way, either.

Setting our own vacations or holidays would be the best solution, but I don't really know how easy that would be to set up and code, so if it doesn't happen, I'm not going to be crying in my pillow over it.

It's not the users, it's the sites.

I like the idea of an optional vacation, myself - I'm not going out of town for Christmas or New Year's since all my family lives within a half a mile from me, so I'll be on the site (though probably not as much) on those days.

However, it'd be totally awesome if I could give myself a day of vacation when I get a bad migraine and looking at a monitor makes my eyes water. Or if I could just say, on some random day in mid-February, "Looks like a good day to play Sims 2 for 20 hours!" or whatever.

I'm not complaining, though, because as it is, on days like that I just do the best I can with clicking as early as I can, and then call it quits until the next reset. It would have been cool to be able to set myself on break when we got a hurricane that I knew in advance would knock our power out for at least a week, but as I was more worried about heating up canned goods on a homemade barbecue pit than I was about my click average... :P

2. Emperors and kampaku of a dynasty have an option to accept joining members automatically. The emperor/kampaku would check a box that says "Automatically accept new members?" if they wish to use this option.

3. The most obvious place to put it would be on the dynasty control panel page, or whatever it's called - the page where you can see a list of members, promote/demote, accept alliances, etc.

4. I think a simple box that can be checked, like the ones found in our profiles for showing/not showing links, would be fine. If you want to get fancy with it, it could also be a box with "auto-accept if dynasty population is less than ___." with another box for the emperor/kampaku to put in their own limit, much like the box that VIPs have for setting a certain amount of clicks to a link in their profiles.

-----

And on the same note, I think it'd also be nice, if the "auto-accept at #" option is added, if there could also be an "auto-decline at #" for people who want to limit their dynasty to a certain number of members, aren't accepting new members at the time, and so on.

Nope.

That site only allows one click into the site per IP per day, no matter whose link you click on. Which kinda annoys me because they made that change right when I was considering making an account there. It pretty much guaranteed I won't be signing up until they change that policy. *grumble*

Hey, I think the way it is now, where you can sort it however you want, is cool.

That way one dynasty is #1 in average, one is #1 in total clicks, etc. There's no need to be #1 in everything.

Was there a big party with banana daiquiris? And now the monkeys are all hiding behind the sofa with a hangover?
