Adding www to the gladiatus urls is a no can do, that will only bring you to their main server and not to the game server you're playing on.

Yeah, as long as it isn't some kind of gigantic popup a notification would be okay. I don't think daimyos and peasants would need to see it, but shoguns and emperors most definately. I like the idea of the number of new aplicants beside the dynasty name (Welcome Ansem, from The Untouchables dynasty), or maybe beside the "Dynasty exchange" link..

I think you just got more clicks than you think. I only show my link on dynasty (24 hours a day but still) and I get well over 100 clicks/day..
