From the new year dynasties compete for highest MinMemAvg.
And a rule: minimum dynasty size is 15 to participate, peasants are not counted.

Sejjas - Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:54 pm

Ok, but do so now and let it forever! Because I hate it that you always change something.
And you also change it whenever MMC UBC is put into 1!

stop & think for a second. now the contest is over, yes you did finish 1st, now think how that came about. massive alliance drop on the previous winner as well as admin related actions against members of a few dynasties may well have contributed to your dynasty getting number 1? If those things didnt happen do you think your dynasty would have won?

Congrats kra92 & UBC for winning the last contest of 2009!

Ella - Fri Jan 01, 2010 12:46 pm

Thank you Stan for the new contest, personally i like this one better then the previous one.

I second Jays words and congrats UBC, don't look back and go for this contest!

Happy New Year everyone and good luck ♥

I don't mind changing but I have some major objections about this contest change.

First of all, the MinMemAvg value is currently computed over all dynasty members who are not peasants. Therefore it can be easily and artificially increased by demoting peasants as many members as necessary. (see for instance RMV MinMemAvg that is 438 today and that will be much greater tomorrow)

Actually, the more members will be peasants (to the extent of all but one), the higher will be the MinMemAvg: does it make sense?

Second, even if the MinMemAvg computation is changed so that all members are taken into account, then the best strategy will consist in keeping only the 15 best members in the dynasty and kicking all the others out: is that what is expected?

Third, the MinMemAvg value is currently computed not over the last 21 days but day after day and is equal to the MinAvg average over all current non-peasants.

That means that regardless of what can happen during the whole month, everything can change on the very last day of the contest. You just need to gather on the last day a best team of 15 members which will have on this special day the best MinMemAvg possible. I have no doubt there will be such last minute dynasty moves.

Again, does it make sense to award a monthly prize for a 1-day performance?

Jeanne ;) had the idea of this contest. Here is how the Moblets can win if the rules are not changed: 1) wait for January the 31st 2) demote peasants all Moblets but Jeanne 3) get your MinMemAvg equal to Jeanne's MinAvg :)

OMG this is a JOKE???? whaaaa, I can not help it but I must laugh very hard.
Who is the creator of this concept??? Stan??? is this a 1 april joke?
Bruno thank you , for making things clear.
I can not help it but i am still laughing.... what a joke.

Jeanne - Sun Jan 03, 2010 5:59 am

Who say peasants are not counting?

As far as I know peasants do count again since the update.

Added: It seems like Bruno is right - LOL so many peasants this morning in RMV and NF

Might be a better idea to come up with something that most dynasties have a chance of winning legitimately than ridecule someone else's ideas

The many peasants in Net Freaks it is not since this morning. Our ranking system says for quite a while that everyone with ave under 200 is peasant.

Yarold - Sun Jan 03, 2010 4:09 pm

Thanks Bruno for beeing last one sober.

Almost 2y old contest needs updating!

Starting next month we are splitting it into 2 groups:
- TIny 20- for dynasties with 10 to 20 dynasty size
- Big 21+ for those who dont like to be called tiny

Also updating prizes
TIny 20-:
1st 70000
2nd 30000

Big 21+:
1st 90000
2nd 40000

borracho - Tue May 31, 2011 4:20 am

Cool!

Great change....although the prize for 1st place seems disproportional between large and small dynasties.

bluebell_rose - Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:45 am

I don't agree with the new change, It does not encourage the growth of yarolds. It doesn't encourage the smaller dynasties to recruit and train new members. Why should a dynasty waste it's energy training new people when they can just have a super team of 10 people and win 70k credits allied to everyone?

I missed when the contest was about min avg. At least then it encouraged dynasties to recruit and train new members to click.

DemonicJ - Wed Jun 01, 2011 10:19 am

My thoughts im sure you have read already.

So whats the criteria for calculating the places? 21 members count for those of us that dont want to be called tiny (I would prefer to be recognised for growing a dynasty as large as I have, that does as well as it does)

Do peasants count?

For those under 21 is the result based on minavg / 20 or minavg / number of members

jassej - Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:09 am

I understand that there is trying to motivated all dynasty and make more competition but I think that wrong way!

I should teaching new members as big dynasty and maybe I am mostly third or fourth so I don't win any credit and "tiny" dynasty have easy without teaching to win credit...

That also motivated big to be tiny and tiny to stay tiny dynasty!!!!!

For me that all credit it's prizes for big because of teaching new members!!

Leadership from tiny dynasty don't invest so many time and energy and because of this don't should win any credit or, if yes, then just symbolic, also first tiny 2000 and second 1000 credit.

Finally I also agree with bluebell_rose, that bad update and should be changed, that my mind.

And do peasants count?

As Mob's kampaku, I agree totaly.
As admin, I trust Yarold. Something must be in his mind that make him think it's a good idea.... we will see :)

No, peasants doesn't count, same than till now

Samembal3 - Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:02 am

Refreshing the contest is a good idea, after 17 months.
Good idea to ask the 10/20 dynasties to play.

The 15 limit was set to allow dynasties of 20 or 30 to participate. They did not. Why ? We were only 3 to set the dynasty yesterday. Are the "tinies" going to participate with all their members ?

I agree with BBR, there is a serious hazard with the new rules : best way to win is to reduce the dynasty down to 10 members. A reward of 70000 for 10 members sounds great.

Btw, why not a Hall of Fame ? lots of members never heard of the contest, advertising could help.

Alba wrote:

Then I can leave just 20 members they rank, make all others peasant and play for tiny contest

You will need kick 34 members to play as "tiny" dynasty (you are 54 just now)

Jeanne - Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:16 am

LOL so we're back to kicking members before reset?
I calculate Busters can win 2nd (20,000) in Big or can't win at all but we can get 1st in Tiny (70,000) so I kick members mailing them a promise of 1000 credits to return and we win ..... pffft.

jassej - Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:42 pm

Yeah, that idea, kick members at last day and after they come back!!

I DON'T MAKE IT, I like to be in a big dynasty, but it's possible to abused it.

But if members, after kicking or leave dynasty, a few days cannot join any dynasty will be not possible to abused it!!

Yarold - Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:58 pm

You dont need to kick members, you can demote them.
Jeanne - Fri Jun 24, 2011 6:45 pm

Yarold wrote:

?? If a large dyn 50+ members wants to go for Tiny contest they will have to kick members as I read the rules for Tiny contest.

Yarold - Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:10 pm

Ther's no such rule, we can update that if you want
Jeanne - Fri Jun 24, 2011 9:02 pm

So the large dynasties can compete in both contests and on the last day, after doing the calculations, decide if they should demote all but 10 or 21?

I still read it as a dynasty in Tiny contest has 10-20 members, so I must kick 17 to be in that contest.

Yes, if a dynasty with 21-40 members wants to compete as tiny and be called as such, then its not a problem.

But it is not really fair in my opinion...
I thought it was a joke, but it is reality now.
