MUSHpark - Sat Aug 30, 2008 6:19 am Post subject: Don't include joiners in dynasty average As a new, growing dynasty I'm trying to get my average up to what we're actually clicking. Before reset today our Dyn avg was 178. We have 3 members, our daily clicks were 508,441,471 which averages 473 According to formula, average should have gone up by (473-178)/10 or 29, which would have been 207. However after reset I looked and dyn avg is only 189. During the day yesterday had 2 newbies try to join that I did not allow to join, but I think the game included them in my average, so assumed I had 5 members. So instead of our 3 members having a true average of 473 the system used an average of 284. I understand that an average should include people who actually join your dynasty during the day, or leave it during that day, but if someone just attempts to join and you never make them a peasant, they should not count in the average. I don't think it was unfortunate for the newbies at all. I corresponded with them both. They were in negative credits because they had multiple links to the same minicity and were getting too many clicks on click-limited games. They now have just the right links they want and don't waste credits. THey also will have hidden links after their click limit hits so probably won't be welcome in most dynasties... I can refer them to you if you want. 
Back on subject. they are not counted in ave math was not changed here since first days of it and is still the same 189 = (178*9 + (413+319+146)/3)/10 MUSHpark - Sat Aug 30, 2008 10:18 pm
Hi, Yarold, and thank you again for answering. I had thought dynasty averages were based on clicks that day, but apparently it is only based on member averages. So we have a new member who just joined with a 1 average. SO even if they click 500 like all the rest of us, the best their personal average can go up is 50 and they'll only contribute 50 toward our dynasty average which might make it go down, even though all dynasty members have clicked higher than dynasty average... |
