Support - Ask here - Over 5 hour wait time
70Chevelle - Tue Dec 09, 2008 6:56 pm Post subject: Over 5 hour wait time on those new hotel links? - wow - is that really necessary? I've got two setting - counting down but at this rate - they'll barely be finished before reset - and if there are any more - then they wouldn't be finished by reset

ok -I thought that was for each individual hotel - thanks for clearing that up - I'll make sure I don't click them any more - can't leave those pages up all day

This is from their manual
Quote: | Visitors
1. Everybody (or every unique person, to be precise) can visit one hotel every 6 hours. A little bonus for registered users: they can visit 3 hotels every 6 hours.
2. No matter how many visits you can make, there's an additional limitation: you can't visit one person's hotel more often than once every 1 day. Example: at noon, you visit your own hotel and the one that belongs to Jennifer (leave her a comment to visit yours!). 6 hours later, you can't come back to either your or Jennifer's hotels (you need to wait full 1 day to do that. But you can go to hotels that belong to other people (and drop them a note as well ). |
70Chevelle - Tue Dec 09, 2008 7:29 pm
well - three in 6 hours sounds a bit better - I'll just go register (and not put up my link here) and then if too many people don't put up those links it shouldn't be a problem - thanks for all your help!
engelina - Tue Dec 09, 2008 7:37 pm
from what i noticed, is that the link does not need much clicks. i had mine on with a limit of 20 credits, and had a full hotel after that.
and i just visited the people who had hotels themselves, back, and used my 3 visits that way.
70Chevelle - Tue Dec 09, 2008 7:40 pm
I just realized though that registering won't help with the timer - it will still be a 6 hour wait time
Darrel - Wed Dec 10, 2008 1:36 pm
yes, but you can visit the link outside Yarold's.
scarlete - Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:54 pm
(there's already a topic about this ok fine except that it wasn't in the "other games section") :/
Which for the record, is where I look when I'm inquiring about new games.
70Chevelle - Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:59 pm
doesn't matter - the site doesn't work for me anyway - it refuses to count my visits - keeps saying I have 3 after I registered yesterday - but I can hit that stupid button all day long and it won't register my click and it's been over 24 hours since I asked about it in their forum so I just won't worry about that site anymore - thanks for your help everyone

The Hotel you are trying to visit may be full. Put your cursor over the hotel, and it will open up to the rooms. It will let you visit 3 times if you are a Hotel Owner and there is room in the Hotel you are trying to visit. I tried to figure that out too as to why it didn't let me visit, and that was the reason. Hope this helps you.

And can someone move that Hotel link from the "visit all" list? I'm sick and tired of seeing a link that I cannot click for at least three more hours, over and over again!
Thank you

That stands for most of the times.
My hotel fills with 45-50 credits, and that goes for an hour showing the link on dynasty.
Yer Hotel links have a long wait, but the owners doesn't require much visits either.

Hmm seems to be some kind of new problem now with this....either that, or people are just skipping, or not able to use it due to Yarrold timer.....
Had hotel link up for an hour now, and only ONE visit.
Before today, Every day I put the link up for a couple mins, I could fill a WHOLE, empty hotel in about 10 minutes the same way.
This only started today. Not sure what's going on....other than credits dropping.

It's the timer. I can't click yours since I still have over 4 hours to wait on the timer and there were at least 2 Yer Hotel links up less than an hour before yours come up today so most people already clicked on one of the earlier links.

Ahh, ok...had a feeling that was the problem. I know how to deal with it now, just wasn't 100% sure of the cause until now.

What I have been doing, is to watch when others have their Yer Hotel link out............and wait til there is a time there are no other links. I look at my hotel, see if there are open rooms, and will put my link out for maybe 10 hits (I am blessed with being a VIP). That usually is enough to get my rooms filled, if it doesn't fill, then I will put up another 10. I never leave this link up as one that I show all the time. It is a good Happy Time link for me! Hope this helps you too!

6 hours isn't that bad... PhantasyRPG has a 24 hour wait, and for good reason too.
Solrayne - Sat Dec 20, 2008 9:04 pm
Well, 6hrs. is one thing, and if it were just that alone, would probably be ok with it....
But, right now how it's working (or "not" working) is pure crap and a waste of a lot of credits. 10 mins with link up, almost 200 credits lost, and NOT ONE Credited visit on the games' page! Sorry to say it that way, but I'm more than quite Irritated with this now, and to write how I would really describe it, would mean using inappropiate language for a public Forum.
I thought if there was a TIMER, then credits DIDN'T get deducted/given until the timer was ended?
Something is NOT right, when some 200 credits get flushed, and NOT EVEN ONE visit there gets recorded!
I know there's not this kind of problem on Hydra....there's NO timer there, and when credits get deducted there, I actually AM getting visits from them....
Just 20 mins THERE, with same link in use, and all the possible visits for one day were filled....and took less than 50 credits.
70Chevelle - Sun Dec 21, 2008 1:12 am
the problem isn't with the timer - it's the fact that many people have joined or are clicking from other places like hydra and have no "visit's" left to use
follydoll - Mon Dec 22, 2008 4:34 am
Not gonna lie...the 6-24 hour timer links are annoying. Not only will they not hide, but when you have more than a handful of people using them as their only visible link, you can't click more than one and expose the additional histories.
Bob, Frank, Marie, and Sue have hotels. I click one, I get Bob's one link worth of credit. He clicks my visible link and my history link. I can't click the other three, but they can click mine and get two clicks each while I cannot return the favor.
Those games are not based on accumulating clicks outside of the community of the game itself.
Phara - Tue Dec 23, 2008 1:49 am
one advice skipp em em on sight, i will not wait 5 hours for a link to be valid, i saw 3 links today and i skipped em all, 15 hours for 3 links = 150 hours for 30 yeah right
blueyellowkulay - Tue Dec 23, 2008 1:50 am
I am in the process of removing the game link from yarold because it is causing me to go so much into the negative. I never before got -10 or worse at yarolds, but I have since I was using the hotel links. I will try to get clicks elsewhere until something improves.
Patone - Tue Dec 23, 2008 7:39 pm
Changing your IP will kill any timers.

Patone wrote: | Changing your IP will kill any timers. |
Ya, that'd work for any timer....problem is many ISP's have it so it's can't be manually renewed or changed, only when they do it on their end. :/
malbus - Fri Jan 09, 2009 10:57 am
The Phantasy RPG game has a <LIMIT> that displays on any Phantasy RPG link that exceeds the single click you are allowed to make in a day so you don't have links sitting around. Is there any way that this or something similar can be done for Yer Hotel?
I ask this as many people now have multiple links for Yer Hotel and sometimes they stay up for hours waiting to be clicked, keep reappearing as people unhide them to fill the hotel up and so on.
Yesterday, I had over 10 of these links being displayed for hours because I couldn't click them since I can only do 1 every 6 hours. Clicking is becoming a royal pain anymore with more and more of these 6 hour links hanging around. Changing IP's is just as much of a pain for me since I have several programs that require constant connections or I get error messages galore so please don't tell me to reset my DSL modem several times an hour to get a fresh IP address to get around the Yer Hotel timer.
All I'm asking is to see if there is anyway the programmers here can set it to display <LIMIT> or something like that for these links during the waiting period so the link itself isn't being displayed. It makes clicking a pain having them up all the time.
Man I miss the tons of PokePlushies 5 minute links. They weren't near as annoying as these Yer Hotel links are becoming.
turdkey - Sun Jan 11, 2009 8:25 pm
Each to his own game and I back their right of choice. It's six hours by the way and I just ignore them. If I forget it is not a problem just to close the box.
we had the same problem with Phantasy rpg and treated that the same way.

I'd like to know why the hell it uses (deducts) FIVE credits Per EACH click...

is it my imagination or are the same hotel links coming up every 6 hours? I clicked one hotel right after reset last night - and when I got up the next morning -that very same hotel was avail to click - this does not help anyone - although unregistered users can click 1 hotel every 6 hours and it counts - they can only click the SAME hotel once every 24 hours - this needs to be changed so that the same hotel link only comes up for us to click once a day- any more often than that is just wasting credits and time

That's because some user have their links on daily reset, when game has a 24hr reset for clicks.
MarkoFaca - Mon Jan 19, 2009 4:00 pm
Can you make those links to have 24h reset on default?!
I see that many people holds 24h reset on MMC links and opposite - daily reset on YerHotel...?!

Still though- even on daily - shouldn't the link only come up once during the server day? I know this one comes up more than once during the day - maybe I am misunderstanding - but I thought that the 24 meant you could not click that link till 24 hours had passed and that daily meant you could only click once during server day

The server resets on 7am server time, so a server day goes from 7am till 7am
With the daily setting a link clicked at 6am server time, can be clicked again one minute after 7am server time

I understand this - but I have watched this link for several days - I clicked it AFTER reset last night - (1 or 2 minutes after) then when I got up today - we were still on same server day (still are right now - it's almost 6 more hours until server reset) but the link was avail again - and now it is available again! - the SAME links are coming up every 6 hours -in the SAME server day

right now that is the only time I have clicked it during this server day - and it shows clicked in his profile - but when he puts it up during the happy hour before reset tonight - it will show to me - it always does - I may not have a "click" to use on it - because many times I have over the limit in wait time at last HH - but I open that one and hold it till after reset - refresh and his is the first hotel I click of the server day - so it really shouldn't show to me during that last hh of the same server day - but it does (I notice this one because he is a friend and I do visit his hotel anyway so I don't feel like I am "stealing" his credits - I don't know if others are doing it or not) I hope all this makes sense - I'm not good at explaining these things - maybe it's because I technically click it before reset and simply refresh the timer after?

Ya that's crazy. *throwing my two cents in* You can't visit the same hotel more then once s day makes more sense. Although if it applies to everyone, who really cares right?
But then if I click another hotel link, it wouldn't count? Or is that the point of the countdown of 6h? (just thinking out loud)
