Support - Ask here - Cow question
City of MT - Sun Jan 17, 2010 6:27 am Post subject: Cow question The answer is incorrect. Most people say that a cow has four stomachs, but in reality, it has one stomach with four compartments. Can mods actually take some time to verify the quiz questions and answers before allowing it into the site? This has occurred multiple times.

I did not post the question but here is the first answer from WikiAnswers;
"Technically a cow does not have "four stomachs", but rather 4 digestive compartments within their stomachs.
The four digestive compartments in order are:
1. reticulum (the hardware stomach, where foreign objects collect that cannot pass through the digestive system)
2. rumen (where bacteria break down cellulose and fibre from plant material)
3. omasum (absorbs water and digestible nutrients)
4. abomasum (which would be the true stomach, as in humans)
But: If you are asked the question "How many stomachs does a cow have" the simple answer is....4. ""
As I am not a qualified Vet, Id go for that as the answer, as would most as they usually google or share the answers anyway. nearly 70% have answered it with the 'right' answer & only 5 have answered the same as you

Okay then, so next time I should answer based on popular opinion. Advise taken.

My advice wasnt to take popular opinion. I said I googled the question, the answer came from wiki answers which happened to be the first site after searching & the copy & paste was included in my post.

The mods adding the questions are generally taking the questions from trivia sites or similar such resources.

How many of each animal did Moses take on to the Ark?

hahaahh tricky looool
This is a trick . Moses didn't have an ark, Noah did. So basically, the answer is none.

It was not stated directly but was implied.
"As I am not a qualified Vet, Id go for that as the answer, as would most as they usually google or share the answers anyway."
The key wording is that you would go for the answer as well as most. Here, I translated most to most people to common belief to popular opinion. I know you copied and pasted the results and never said anything about that. Since you would go for that answer, along with most people, and you are in a position of authority, I took that to be the right thing to do in future predicaments.
