Support - Ask here - Spelling on HAT and Mail
MUSHpark - Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:26 pm Post subject: Spelling on HAT and Mail So after reading the somewhat amusing spelling and grammar on the HAT links, as well as the various feedback messages in the mail system, I just have to ask:
Are the spelling and grammar errors intentional?
Would Yarold like a translation that is more grammatically sound? Or is there a reason to tell people "Yer have mail"? Sounds kinda pirate-y. Arrrrr!

English is not Yarold's first language, nor is it the first language of the majority of the people who use the link exchange. He is aware that his English is not perfect. A lot of the messages make me smile. I love him more for it. There is no reason for the spelling and grammar to be perfect, the messages are all understandable.

Right, I am not complaining. I get a kick out of it sometimes.
I was more offering to be helpful if it's wanted... or, if it's not wanted, I'll crawl back into my hole and click.

Do not forget we are here on yarolds with people from all over the world.
I am from Netherlands, and I know my English is very bad , but its what tiddamouse says, almost everyone is understanding me.
And people who have problems with it? its their problem not mine, i just think by myself ''grow up!!''
I am happy with this forum, My members from my dynasty have a lot support from here.
Mr Yarolds gave us permission to make the help topics in multiple languages , thats a great support.
So try to read the thinks without looking to the grammar, and accept all those people from all over the world.
peace ♥

I don't forget! However, rule 7 of the link exchange site rules says short notes are to be in English, and all the menu interfaces are in English. So I assume that Yarold has chosen for this to be an English site.

Your English is excellent! And I understand what Yarold is saying. I am NOT criticizing him.

I don't have a problem with it. I am just trying to be helpful. Which is why I am asking, if they want it the way it is, or if they would like suggestions on changing the spelling to be correct English.

I DO read them and think it's amusing. I am NOT complaining. I accept that this isn't his first language, which is why I am willing to help. If the help is wanted. So far all I've gotten is people jumping on me for making an offer to help.

There are two replies to your post and mine, most certainly is not jumping on you
If you read around the forum you will notice a lot of posts similar to the one you have posted. All help is welcomed here but it has already been established that provided the English used is understandable there is no reason to change it. <3
