Post subject: Same Link clicked more then once
Hi,

I just had the problem that my myminicity-link, which was in daily 00:00 mode, was clicked from about 23:59 till 00:01 more than once (and more then twice) from the same persons.
I found this out, because I could see my link in main exchange also after clicking it several times. The same thing was with another link from another person in main exchange.
Now I have changed it temporarely to 24h option.

Do you know, why this happened?

If you need screens from History or something, I could give them to you tomorrow. Now I am off.

I'm getting a bit ticked off with a simlar issue, for around a week I have been clicking links and they are simply not counting...

I used to be able to click 500 easy almost daily if not daily and the rest and now I can barely reach 400... Not only that the clicks I am actually doing half the time are not even counted so out of the 100 clicks I'm doing I only get around 50-60 clicks...

Please don't tell me I am not letting them load, I do. I also enter codes and click ALL dragons and click all numbers and stuff like that, so that is not the problem...

Seeing other peoples short notes it seams I am not the only one experiencing these problems....

What can be done to solve the problem??

ppj2005 - Sun Jul 13, 2008 1:56 am

Hmmm, I had a golden-knight link that I clicked and let load 3 times (the 5+ minutes between each one) but I never got the credit for it. I am not sure how often that happens before the person runs out of credits.

I think that was zerocool's link for me today if that helps.

Cool thanks. That particular link should be fixed now.
Let me know if you still have the same problem with his link.

stompi - Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:42 am

and do you know something abuot my problem?
ppj2005 - Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:55 am

You are a VIP so you can set each one of your links to reset according to the server reset of each individual game. I set all myminicity links to reset at midnight CET with a daily reset.
stompi - Sun Jul 13, 2008 11:10 am

Yes, I had the myminicity link also as daily 00:00.

So you think the problem is gone, now?

We could use a little bit more information on problems like this.

Did you check in your history if your link was clicked more then once by the same user. Can you copy and paste them to us when they're there.

stompi - Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:04 pm

Yes, I saw it in the history. One was randyman666, the others I forgot, cause I thought I can look in the history later, too if needed. It began 23:59 with many clicks and about 5 clicks from each of the same persons (maybe about 5-10 persons with more than one click).

But when I look to the history now, there is no single click from 23:47:02 to 23:59:59 and exactly at 00:00 the clicking began and no double clicks to the same link.

Shall this be a joke?^^ Removing the error and traces and asking then if I could give you the information?

Oh come on now. This is ridicules. I'm trying to help and I'll get accused of this.

We did NOT remove anything. If there's nothing there, there was never anything there.

stompi - Sun Jul 13, 2008 4:27 pm

Sorry, did you notice the "^^"? Hm, maybe I should use the normal smilies here. Anyway it was no serious acusion.

But my statements were correct.

I don´t know how your database is programmed (I don´t know much about databases and php at all), so I have no idea, how this could happen. Maybe another one found it allready and removed the bug?

I only opened this topic to show you the possible bug and to know, if it is solved and I can put my link to daily 00:00 back.

phlaim - Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:11 pm

It could possibly be true, what stompi says. It can be the same thing that happen in the morning, when all links gets reset before the site goes down, and reset the links again. That's two resets and if you're quick enough, you might be able to catch a few links. Last time I saw this was this morning.
Metalteo - Mon Jul 14, 2008 12:46 pm

Never said it wasn't true. what i know is, it didn't count twice. But i don't know why the first one wasn't counted. Could have been some server lag with the links resetting.

Did you have the problem again when links reset this night?

Here is an example... I noticed my link appeared again after I had clicked it once and I had the same myminicities open again so I went and looked in history.

Yarold - Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:12 pm

should be better now
ppj2005 - Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:27 pm

I am clicking all the time :P so there are not many times I have not clicked newly reset links. I clicked those links yesterday after they reset and today I clicked them twice, before and after their reset time.
phlaim - Tue Jul 15, 2008 12:38 am

So that's how you get above 600 that easy!
ppj2005 - Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:46 am

lol... there is nothing easy about getting over 600, that just requires being awake and at a computer 20 hours a day with nothing better to do... what a life!

No, I thin I didn´t have it again, because I changed it temporarely to 24h after this happened. Now I will change it back.

Thx for helping

[ Added: Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:10 am ]
I changed it back to daily 0:00 yesterday.
my History (only for that link and vis removed names):

13:30:17 last one clicked on my link for a long time (I guess this is the time, where I changed it to 00:00 daily back instead of 24h

next clicks at:
23:59:11
23:59:18
23:59:22 [V]
23:59:25 [V]
23:59:32 [V]
23:59:36
23:59:59
00:00:01
00:00:08 [V]
00:00:18 [M]
00:00:24
00:00:24
00:00:35
00:01:10 [A]
00:01:11 [V]
00:01:15 [V]

and so on...

So it resets the link at 23:59. Would 00:00 be possible or that we can make 00:02 instead of 00:00? Maybe standard for all instead of :00 just :02 or that we can decide the minute, too.?

(As this may sound a bit narrow-minded: The problem which disposed me to open this thread was clearer visible, but now solved)

Yarold - Thu Jul 17, 2008 10:47 pm

Every reset is at :59, because more general site reset is 30sec later (at 6:59:30), wich allows to nicely delete expired links. I can move it if everyone wants that
But you have to chose new time.
