Does it make a difference? Most of the other types of links here dont show you who you are clicking

It makes a difference for those who do not wish to click on cities that are located in the same country as your own... (especially when those cities have a ranking close to yours)

Click more than your competitors so you can receive more clicks back or get to know their yarolds name & dont click them (defeats the purpose of a click exchange though)

Another thing I have a question about:
After the update I noticed at the links section of my profile that the / was missing between the address of my city and e.g. sec or tra, so I added the / myself, but now I notice I am losing credits without getting the clicks on my city...
Am I doing something wrong? Should the / not be there?
Because before the update everything was working fine.
In other words: should my link be http://mycityname.myminicity.comsec or http://mycityname.myminicity.com/sec ?

you can remove sec (ind, /env, /com, sec) as yarolds will give you the click where you need it most

well i guess not really except for when you see someone with more then one MyMiniCity link should you just assume that all links are for different cities or just click one link ?

I would assume if a user puts out more than one link they want to be clicked for the links they show. If you happen to notice that its for the same city, maybe you can leave a message on their new board at MMC

Well, that is a big improvement!
Thanks a lot for clarifying!!

Goto profile click on links then hover over the 'I' this will show you your true stats for your city. all other exchanges, smartlinks programs round down if you are at .51% (round down to 0!). So if you are getting /com (shops) its because your city really needs them

my city does not need com it should be a ratio of 6 ind to 1 com ratio, is now 4.2790014684287812041116005873715 ind to one com

We did some research too and came up with a whole different ratio, based on the MMC formula for stats.

and stay ontopic please.

There ya go: , but it will make pages to load slower.

Missing / is a little bug of todays update, it is missing only in mmc links, also site generates working link to your cites despite missing /.

If you don't like the site to choose what your city needs are, you can turn it of in your profile and do it manually as you did before It's explained in this sticky . http://yarold.mine.nu/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3527

OK, do I understand it correctly? If I put for example /ind in my MMC link & choose 'none' in the handle, does it mean that all received clicks will give me ind?

Profile looks nice and is well organized, thank you

Yes it will.

osdragon - Sun Apr 20, 2008 5:09 pm

Just so I'm absolutely clear on this. If I add the extension on my mini city link such as /ind, /tra, etc. and choose 'none' on Use Handle a person's click will go exactly where I want it. But if I set Use Handle on 'mmc', then it smart links and puts the extension where it is needed most?

Yep, that's how it works.

Thanks for the update. I think in general it is well done and very good features implemented giving everybody the freedom to choose how they want to have the links react. (perhaps besides fact we cannot see the mmc links which we do not want to click, but OK the is moaning on a high level

Is there a general thread with a detailed explenation of all features in the profile?

Thanks for an advice, was searching on the tooltips thing but could not find an entry.

Cheers

Excellent update, thanks for your continued dedication to making the site a better place.
DemonicJ - Mon Apr 21, 2008 12:15 am

Lurchman,

If you set the extra tooltips to yes, then when you hover over MMC link you will see the name of the city.

If you set handle to yes it makes you link a smart link, directing clicks to what is needed most for your minicity. if you have it set to no, you have to manually change the link for what you want

Tsai - Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:32 am

Don't get me wrong: I think the handle is great, but I was just wondering how often does the system updates the statistics of your minicity which the handle uses to determine what is needed most?

The reason I am asking this is because I turned the handle on to see if it can really make my life easier  and a big 2 hours ago I needed tra so the handle started giving me tra. But right now it's still giving me tra while in the past 2 hours there were so many tra clicks that I have enough of that for at least another 250 habitants. But still it is nog changing it in something else that I need more, like e.g. sec.
So to stop the tra input I now turned the handle off and switched back to manually telling the system what I need and want.

Any more explanation on this, would be highly appreciated
